Microsoft Network Engineer

SUMMARY:

Under limited supervision, integrates computer and network systems into a wide variety of industries, and applications. Provides complex, high-level technical support for computer and network systems, and carries out novice and/or complex assignments requiring the development of new and/or improved techniques and procedures as it relates to on-site installations, and depot requirements.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Formulates, develops, and implements integrated network architectures for small to medium businesses.

  2. Analyzes and determines budget requirements, current computer and network systems technology, and available vendor offerings to establish optimum computer and network architecture solutions; plans future enhancements and directions for the customers computer network. Understands our billing methodologies, and knows what it takes to get the job completed in a required time frame.

  3. Develops standards for computer and network systems, to include standards for wiring, equipment, system security, and routing protocol.

  4. Provides project management in the implementation, installation, configuration, and technical support of computer and network architecture on those jobs assigned; and coordinates these projects with other departments to ensure good communication, and accountability.

  5. Provides planning, leadership, direction, and advanced technical expertise regarding computer and network services for both local and wide area networks, and serves as the high-level technical expert in regards to computer/network systems and associated issues.

  6. Serves as primary point of contact and technical liaison with customer, and in house support staff on jobs assigned.

  7. Works closely with Sales Department to Designs, and develop network requirements and scope of project when requested.

  8. Installs, configures, and maintains computer and network operating system and application software, as appropriate; provides on-call support for computer/network systems as required.

  9. Maintains a broad knowledge of current and emerging state-of-the-art computer/network systems technologies, architectures, and products.

  10. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

  11. Meets a minimum billing requirement of 6 hours/day.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree; at least 4 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified or successful completion of at least 60 college-level credit hours; at least 6 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

The overall job responsibilities includes, in-house and field service support for all customers relating to desktop computers, data networks and server platforms. You are entering into a fast pass, multitasking, and constantly changing environments. Expertise in windows operating systems, detail understanding of network topologies/troubleshooting and ability to troubleshoot server configuration problems are the basic knowledge set necessary to handle this job. The ability to handle a majority of these service requests, on your own, in these identified areas are the minimum job requirements.


Senior Computer Hardware & Software Technician

Under limited supervision, integrates computer and network systems into a wide variety of industries, and applications. Provides complex, high level technical support for computer and network systems, and carries out novice and/or complex assignments requiring the development of new and/or improved technicques and procedures as it relates to on-site installations, and depot requirements. Formulates, develops, and implements integrated network architectures for small to medium size businesses. Annalyzes, and determines budget requirements, current computer and network systems technology, and availble vendor offerings to establish optimum computer and network architecture solutions;plans future enhancements and direction for customers computer network. Installs, configures, and maintains computer and network operating system, and application software. Computer and Printer Hardware Repair Experience, as well as MCSE and equivalent hands on experience a must for this position. Provide Hardware, and Software certifications along with relevant experience with resume submission.
